{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-214.020","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 214.020","heading":"Cabinet to adopt administrative regulations and take other action to","body":"prevent spread of disease -- Requirements for administrative regulations.\n(1) When  the Cabinet for Health and Family Services determines that an infectious\nor contagious disease will invade this state, it shall take necessary action and\npromulgate administrative regulations under KRS  Chapter 13A to prevent the\nintroduction or spread of such infectious or contagious disease or diseases\nwithin this state.\n(2) Any  administrative regulation promulgated under the authority of this section\nshall:\n(a) Be in effect no longer than thirty (30) days if the administrative regulation:\n1. Places restrictions on the in-person meeting or functioning of the\nfollowing:\na. Elementary,  secondary,  or  postsecondary  educational\ninstitutions;\nb. Private businesses or non-profit organizations;\nc. Political, religious, or social gatherings;\nd. Places of worship; or\ne. Local governments; or\n2. Imposes mandatory quarantine or isolation requirements;\n(b) Include the penalty, appeal, and due process rights for violations of the\nadministrative regulation; and\n(c) Contain the public hearing and written comment period notice required by\nKRS  13A.270.","path":["KRS Chapter 214"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50646","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:17Z","sha256":"b2e2a5c7fca4316a01a95b3a02eb8b1245c2c63be49e747bbcb58e20460e4d18","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-214.017","next":"us-ky/krs-214.030"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
