{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-214.300","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 214.300","heading":"Labels on mattresses -- Regulation of.","body":"(1) There shall be securely sewed upon the outside of each mattress manufactured, or\noffered for sale, a muslin, paper or linen label or tag, upon which shall be legibly\nwritten or printed a description of the material used as the filling of the mattress.\n(2) If all the material used in the manufacture of the mattress has not been previously\nused, the words \"manufactured of new material\" shall appear upon the label or tag,\ntogether with the name and address of the maker.\n(3) Any mattress made from any material previously used shall have stamped or printed\nupon the tag attached thereto, in type not smaller than twenty -point, the words\n\"secondhand material.\"\n(4) If labeled felt or felted cotton, it is understood that the cotton or material has all\nbeen carded in layers or sheets by a Garnett or cotton felting machine.\n(5) In the description upon the label or tag of the material used as the filling of any\nmattress, no term or designation likely to mislead shall be used.\n(6) No person except a purchaser at retai l shall remove, deface or alter, or attempt or\ncause the removal, defacement or alteration of any mark or statement placed upon\nany mattress under the provisions of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 214"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=8810","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:18Z","sha256":"9a8274a3bbb5cb619c7a8cd379a099ac566c6cc4ad69866a4ff1a3b039a2f954","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-214.290","next":"us-ky/krs-214.310"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
