{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-215.590","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 215.590","heading":"Responsibility to report active tuberculosis cases and results of drug","body":"susceptibility tests on tubercle bacilli.\n(1) A health service or health facility required to be licensed pursuant to KRS Chapter\n216B or KRS Chapter 333, a health provider require d to be licensed pursuant to\nKRS Chapters 311, 312, 313, 314, 315, or 320, or any other person who has\nknowledge of a person who has active tuberculosis, shall report the case to the local\nhealth department in accordance with the administrative regulations  of the Cabinet\nfor Health and Family Services promulgated pursuant to KRS Chapter 13A.\n(2) Physicians, hospitals, laboratories, or other institutions which perform related drug\nsusceptibility tests on tubercle bacilli shall report the results of the testi ng to the\nlocal health department in accordance with the administrative regulations of the\nCabinet for Health and Family Services promulgated pursuant to KRS Chapter 13A.\nAll reports of drug -resistant tubercle bacilli shall be made regardless of previous\nreports.\n(3) No legal action shall lie against any physician, hospital employee, laboratory\nemployee, or other person who, in good faith, reports a case of tuberculosis or the\nisolation of the tubercle bacillus as provided in this section, KRS 215.511, 215. 520,\n215.531, 215.540, 215.550, 215.560, 215.570, 215.580, and 215.600.","path":["KRS Chapter 215"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=8943","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:19Z","sha256":"17d00911f305a77219283d12dbc1258e583eee1d31a144798a4f2e8c76a2b6cf","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-215.580","next":"us-ky/krs-215.600"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
