{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-216.701","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 216.701","heading":"Definitions for chapter.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Health care worker\" means any person, whether licensed or unlicensed,\ntemporarily or permanently employed by, volunteering in, or under contract with a\nhealth facility, who has direct contact with a patient of the health facility for\npurposes of either me dical care or emergency response situations potentially\ninvolving violence;\n(2) \"Health facility\" has the same meaning as in KRS 216B.015;\n(3) \"Workplace\" means any property that is owned or leased by the health facility at\nwhich the official business of the health care worker is conducted;\n(4) \"Workplace safety\" means the process of protecting health care workers' physical\nwell-being from workplace violence; and\n(5) \"Workplace violence\" means any act or threat of physical violence, harassment,\nintimidation, or other threatening disruptive behavior that occurs at the workplace.","path":["KRS Chapter 216"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53958","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:22Z","sha256":"950ba0128bff3a92a218ef8fa2191efc0df65f3548b2efa3a19eb844db392c4e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-216.700","next":"us-ky/krs-216.703"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
