{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-216.703","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 216.703","heading":"Cabinet for Health and Family Services to establish guidelines for","body":"developing workplace safety assessment -- Cabinet to audit health facilities for\ncompliance -- Standards for compliance.\n(1) By January 1, 2024, the Cabinet for Health and Fam ily Services shall develop and\ndisperse the following information to health facilities:\n(a) Guidelines for developing a workplace safety assessment;\n(b) Examples of a workplace safety plan; and\n(c) Examples of workplace safety standards specific to prevent ing workplace\nviolence against health care workers.\n(2) Beginning January 1, 2025, the cabinet shall annually audit health facilities for\ncompliance with the provisions of KRS 216.701 to 216.709.\n(3) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contra ry, the cabinet shall accept\nthat a health facility is in compliance with KRS 216.701 to 216.709 if the health\nfacility:\n(a) Is accredited by the Joint Commission or another nationally recognized\naccrediting organization with comparable standards and survey processes, that\nis approved by the United States Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services;\n(b) Is recognized by the United States Office of the Inspector General as a health\nfacility certified to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs by the\nUnited States Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services;\n(c) Is licensed as an assisted living community pursuant to KRS Chapter 194A; or\n(d) Is any provider that accepts payment for services from an individual receiving\nstate supplementation pursuant to KRS 205.245.\n(4) The cabinet shall promulgate the necessary administrative regulations to effectuate\nthe provisions of KRS 216.701 to 216.709.","path":["KRS Chapter 216"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53959","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:22Z","sha256":"679f209de10a3f79f9bb58fe1aa620918d2fa4b4ff5bb9731117e09118fa47c3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-216.701","next":"us-ky/krs-216.705"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
