{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-216.787","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 216.787","heading":"Prohibition against employing certain felons at publicly funded agencies","body":"serving senior citizens -- Preemployment check with Justice and Public Safety\nCabinet.\n(1) No agency providing services to senior citizens which are funded by the Department\nfor Community Based Services of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services or the\nDepartment for Aging and Independent Living of the Cabinet for Health and Family\nServices shall employ persons in a position which involves providing direct care\nservices to a senior citizen if that person has been convicted of a felony offense\nrelated to theft; abuse or sale of illegal drugs; abuse, neglect, or exploitation of an\nadult; or the commission of a sex crime.\n(2) Operators of service provider agencies may empl oy persons convicted of or\npleading guilty to an offense classified as a misdemeanor.\n(3) Each service provider agency providing direct care services to senior citizens as\nspecified under KRS 216.785 to 216.793 shall request all conviction information\nfrom the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet for any applicant for employment prior\nto employing the applicant.","path":["KRS Chapter 216"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52782","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:22Z","sha256":"3ee3da1a6e4a39a435fb13b8e79b2f39c6a490fa8bcce81029aab2e5903a9d3f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-216.785","next":"us-ky/krs-216.789"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
