{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-216.875","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 216.875","heading":"Definitions for KRS 216.880 to 216.890.","body":"As used in KRS 216.880 to 216.890 the following definitions shall apply:\n(1) \"Prescribed pediatric extended care center\" hereinafter referred to as a \"PPEC\ncenter,\" means any building or other place, whether operated for profit or not, which\nundertakes through its ownership or management to provide, for a part of the day,\nbasic services to three (3) or more medically dependent or technologically\ndependent children who are not related to the owner or operator by blood, marriage,\nor adoption and who require such services;\n(2) \"Basic services\" include, but are not limited to, development, implementation, and\nmonitoring of a comprehensive protocol of care, developed in conjunction with the\nparent or guardian, which specifies the medical, nursing, psychosocial, a nd\ndevelopmental therapies required by the medically dependent or technologically\ndependent child served as well as the caregiver training needs of the child's legal\nguardian;\n(3) \"Cabinet\" means the Cabinet for Health and Family Services;\n(4) \"Owner or operator\" means any individual who has general administrative charge of\na PPEC center;\n(5) \"Medical records\" means medical records maintained in accordance with accepted\nprofessional standards and practices as specified in the administrative regulations;\n(6) \"Medically dependent or technologically dependent child\" means a child who\nbecause of a medical condition requires continuous therapeutic interventions or\nskilled-nursing supervision which must be prescribed by a licensed physician and\nadministered by, or under the direct supervision of, a licensed registered nurse; and\n(7) \"Supportive services or contracted services\" include, but are not limited to, speech\ntherapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, developmental, child\nlife, and psychological services.","path":["KRS Chapter 216"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=9140","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:22Z","sha256":"acfb96ee74b2d7f8e0d930137095fcac42738b37b0e936285a19a56652f442a2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-216.865","next":"us-ky/krs-216.880"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
