{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-216.940","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 216.940","heading":"Definitions for KRS 216.940 to 216.945.","body":"As used in KRS 216.940 to 216.945:\n(1) \"Charitable health care provider\" means any person, agency, clinic, or facility,\nlicensed or certified by the Commonwealth or under a comparable provision of law\nof another state, territory, district, or possession of the United States, engaged in the\nrendering of medical care or dentistry:\n(a) Within the scope of practice for which the person, agency, clinic, or facility is\nlicensed or certified; and\n(b) Without compensation or charge, and without expectation of compe nsation or\ncharge, to the individual, without payment or reimbursement by any\ngovernmental agency or insurer;\n(2) \"Regularly practice\" means to practice for more than sixty (60) days within any\nninety (90) day period; and\n(3) \"Sponsoring organization\" means any organization, with an established relationship\nwith a practicing entity, that organizes or arranges for the voluntary provision of\nhealth care services in the state.","path":["KRS Chapter 216"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51022","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:22Z","sha256":"a4ddac36eda7924f6529628be19d68e71bcfb4771ada65b651d0f121e51ed989","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-216.939","next":"us-ky/krs-216.941"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
