{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-216b.010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 216B.010","heading":"Legislative findings and purposes.","body":"The General Assembly finds that the licensure of health facilities and health services is a\nmeans to insure that the citizens of this Commonwealth will have safe, adequate, and\nefficient medical care; that the proliferation of unnecessary health -care facilities, health\nservices, and major medical equipment results in costly duplication and underuse of such\nfacilities, services, and equipment; and that such proliferation increases the cost of quality\nhealth care within the Commonwealth. Therefore, it is the purpose of this chapter to fully\nauthorize and empower the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to perform any\ncertificate-of-need function and other statutory functions necessary to improve the quality\nand increase access to health -care facilities, services, and providers, and to create a cost -\nefficient health-care delivery system for the citizens of the Commonwealth.","path":["KRS Chapter 216B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=9178","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:23Z","sha256":"7cc9f8e2f653adf0ccbfe405c6c1f5f5f50e6f060851b917e6cb4b03b35f764c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-216a.990","next":"us-ky/krs-216b.015"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
