{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-216b.175","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 216B.175","heading":"Services by a physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse","body":"for patient admitted to acute care or psychiatric hospital -- Transferability of\nhistory and physical examination to another licensed level of care within same\nhospital -- Administrative regulations.\n(1) A physician assistant, credentialed under KRS Chapter 311, when those duties and\nresponsibilities are within the scope of training received in an approved program\nand within the scope of the supervising physician's practice, or an advanced practice\nregistered nurse licensed under KRS Chapter 314, may:\n(a) Perform a history and physical examination for a patient admitted to an acute\ncare or psychiatric hospital licensed under this chapter; and\n(b) Order and review continuation of re straints and seclusion as a health care\npractitioner in accordance with 42 C.F.R. 482.13.\n(2) A history and physical examination shall be performed no more than thirty (30)\ndays before or twenty-four (24) hours after a patient is admitted to an acute care or\npsychiatric hospital licensed under this chapter.\n(3) The history and physical examination that has been performed in compliance with\nsubsection (2) of this section is transferable to another licensed level of care within\nthe same hospital.\n(4) The Cabi net for Health and Family Services shall promulgate administrative\nregulations in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A to establish the content of the\nhistory and physical examination required by subsection (2) of this section\nperformed in an acute or psychiatr ic hospital that shall be used by the licensing\nentity.","path":["KRS Chapter 216B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=9232","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:23Z","sha256":"1bcaf7018682301c0691b67b94f6553b8571b83cdaa28b873be0da9cd8e66a40","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-216b.170","next":"us-ky/krs-216b.176"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
