{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-217.188","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 217.188","heading":"Administrative regulations regarding poultry sold on farms, at farmers","body":"markets, and at roadside stands.\n(1) For the purposes of this section, \"end consumer\" means a person who is the last\nperson to purchase any food product and who does not resell the food product.\n(2) Notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the contrary, the secretary shall\npromulgate administrative regulations in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A to:\n(a) Exclude slaughtering and processing of poultry on a farm for the p urpose of\nconducting sales under 9 C.F.R. sec. 381.10 if the slaughtered and processed\npoultry or poultry products are sold to an end consumer on a farm, at a\nfarmers market, or at a roadside stand;\n(b) Require that poultry or poultry products processed un der this section that are\nsold on a farm be refrigerated at the point of sale and labeled in compliance\nwith the requirements of 9 C.F.R. sec. 381.10; and\n(c) Require that poultry or poultry products processed under this section that are\nsold at a farmers market or at a roadside stand be frozen at the point of sale\nand labeled in compliance with the requirements of 9 C.F.R. sec. 381.10.\n(3) Notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the contrary, a local governmental\nagency shall not require any additio nal certification or inspection of poultry or\npoultry products of a farmer acting in compliance with the administrative\nregulations promulgated pursuant to this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 217"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57383","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:25Z","sha256":"e6e55c06ace154edfc253c69c992caf3926f35639a2225ceb3dd187ca56facc6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-217.187","next":"us-ky/krs-217.190"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
