{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-217.214","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 217.214","heading":"Seizure of unlawful prescription.","body":"(1) A pharmacist, practitioner, or other person authorized by law to dispense legend\ndrugs, or an employee of that person, may seize and retain any prescription which\nhe has reasonable suspicion for believing is forged, altered, or possessed in\nviolation of KRS 217.207, 217.208, or 217.209.\n(2) Seizure and retention shall be for a reasonable period of time to make reasonable\ninquiry as to whether the prescription is forged, altered, or illegally possessed.\n(3) If after reasonable inquiry the pharmacist, practit ioner, or other person determines\nthat the prescription is forged, altered, or stolen, he shall report the seizure to a law\nenforcement officer and shall surrender the prescription to the officer upon the\nrequest of the officer.","path":["KRS Chapter 217"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=9322","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:25Z","sha256":"1d6bd72c1f50a73fdddebf933f56f6c6f32d28046f049bb1731e8fdd4e04c936","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-217.211","next":"us-ky/krs-217.215"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
