{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-217.2202","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 217.2202","heading":"Kratom processors and retailers -- Prohibitions.      (Effective until July 1,","body":"2027)\nA kratom processor or kratom retailer shall not:\n(1) Distribute, dispense, sell, or make available for sale any kratom extract or kratom\nproduct to an individual who is under twenty-one (21) years of age; or\n(2) Prepare, manufacture, distribute, dispense, sell, or make available for sale any\nkratom extract or kratom product that:\n(a) Is adulterated with a dangerous nonkratom substance that affects the quality\nor strength of the kratom extract or kratom product to such a degree that it\nmay injure a consumer;\n(b) Contains a poisonous or otherwise harmful nonkratom ingredient, including\nbut not limited to any controlled substance as defined in KRS Chapter 218A;\n(c) Contains a level of 7 -hydroxymitragynine in the alkaloid fraction that is\ngreater than two percent (2%) of the overall alkaloid composition of the\nproduct;\n(d) Contains any synthetic alkaloid, including synthetic mitragynine, synthetic 7 -\nhydroxymitragynine, or any other synthetically derived compound of the plant\nMitragyna speciosa;\n(e) Contains levels of residual solvents higher than those permitted under the\nUnited States Pharmacopeia Chapter 467; or\n(f) Does not meet the labeling requirements established pursuant to KRS\n217.2203 or any administrative regulation promulgated thereunder.\nEffective: July 15, 2024","path":["KRS Chapter 217"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54825","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:25Z","sha256":"86591b7adea28babd3ca1a7274dc09f94f4bb4a4e185ec18b2171efa2d3c18e4","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-217.2201","next":"us-ky/krs-217.2203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
