{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-217.375","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 217.375","heading":"Sale of grocery items -- Limited exemptions  for food service","body":"establishments.\n(1) Legally permitted food service establishments shall be exempt from any state\nor local laws and administrative regulations that prohibit the sale of grocery\nitems such as bread, milk, and other grocery staples to any customer.\n(2) Sales permitted under subsection (1) of this section shall be limited to no more\nthan twenty-five percent (25%) of the food service establishment's gross\nannual sales for the federal tax year.\n(3) Notwithstanding KRS  217.125, no additional permit or permit fee shall be\nrequired for the sale of grocery items by legally permitted food service\nestablishments unless the food service establishment violates subsection (2) of\nthis section.","path":["KRS Chapter 217"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50716","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:25Z","sha256":"d26733c69fa96fc682cada9263196f536211223ff53fcffb93a0a22691b060df","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-217.370","next":"us-ky/krs-217.380"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
