{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-217.801","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 217.801","heading":"Restrictions on sale and use of paint containing lead -- Labeling.","body":"(1) Paint manufactured after July 1, 1972, containing more than one-half of one percent\n(.5%) lead by weight of the nonvolatile content shall not be sold, or used on any\ntoys, children's furniture, interior surface of any dwelling, or any other surface easily\naccessible to children under the age of seven (7) years. Such paints shall not be\nmanufactured, sold, or used for any other purpose which would ultimately result in\nexposure to children under the age of seven (7) years unless proper application and\ndocumentation is made to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the\ncabinet determines that no health hazard or danger to children exists from the\nintended use.\n(2) All paints manufactured in this state after July 1, 1972, which will be used in this\nstate will be clearly labeled as to use and hazard when containing more than one -\nhalf of one percent (.5%) lead by weight of the total nonvolatile content.\n(3) The above provisions of subsections (1) and (2) of this section shall apply to all\npaints containing more than six one -hundredths of one percent (.06%) lead by\nweight of the total nonvolatile content after January 1, 1974.","path":["KRS Chapter 217"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=9429","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:27Z","sha256":"415b14b78df38d4f63ba4b2c142a7be6dbd537f3692d8a8cd9d44b3ddd448f19","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-217.800","next":"us-ky/krs-217.803"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
