{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-217.990","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 217.990","heading":"Penalties.","body":"(1) Any person who violates any of the provisions of KRS 217.350 shall be fined not\nmore than twenty-five dollars ($25).\n(2) Any person who violates any of the provisions of subsection (2) of KRS 217.390\nshall be fined not less than ten dollars ($10) nor more than one hundred dollars\n($100), or imprisoned for not more than fifty (50) days, or both.\n(3) Except as provided in subsections (1) and (2) of this section, any person who\nviolates any of the provisions of KRS 217.280 to 217.390 or who refuses to comply\nwith any lawful order or requirement duly made in writing as provided in KRS\n217.380, shall, for the first offense, be fined not less than ten dollars ($10) nor more\nthan one hundred dollars ($100), or imprisoned for not more than thirty (30) days,\nor both,  and for any subsequent offense shall be fined not less than fifty dollars\n($50) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200), or imprisoned for not more than\nninety (90) days, or both. Each day after the expiration of the time limit for abating\nunsanitary con ditions and completing improvements to abate such conditions, as\nordered under KRS 217.380, shall be a separate offense.\n(4) Any person who violates any of the provisions of KRS 217.400 shall be fined not\nless than ten dollars ($10) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100).\n(5) Any person who violates any of the provisions of KRS 217.420 to 217.440 shall be\nfined not less than two hundred dollars ($200) nor more than one thousand dollars\n($1,000), or imprisoned in the county jail for not more than one (1) year, or both.\n(6) Any person who violates any of the provisions of KRS 217.450 shall be fined one\nhundred dollars ($100).\n(7) Any person who violates any provision of KRS 217.801 shall be fined not less than\nfifty dollars ($50) nor more than five hundred d ollars ($500) or imprisoned for not\nless than thirty (30) days nor more than six (6) months, or both.\n(8) Any person who violates any of the provisions of KRS 217.808 to 217.812, or any\nrule or regulation adopted thereunder, or who operates a vending machi ne company\nor vending machine commissary without a permit as prescribed in KRS 217.808 to\n217.812, or who fails to comply with any order of the cabinet or of any local health\ndepartment issued pursuant thereto shall be fined not less than twenty -five dollars\n($25) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100). Each day of violation or\nnoncompliance shall constitute a separate offense.\n(9) Willful noncompliance with KRS 217.816 shall constitute a violation and shall\nsubject the violator to a fine of not over fift y dollars ($50) for the first offense and\nnot over two hundred dollars ($200) for a subsequent offense.\n(10) Any person who willfully fails to comply with the provisions of KRS 217.816 to\n217.826 shall be guilty of a violation and shall be subject to a fin e of not less than\none hundred dollars ($100) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500) for each\nviolation.\n(11) Any person who violates any of the provisions of KRS 217.177 shall be fined not\nless than twenty-five dollars ($25) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500) or be\nimprisoned in the county jail for not less than five (5) nor more than thirty (30)\ndays, or both.\n(12) Any manufacturer or distributor who dispenses, sells, or otherwise provides to any\nother person any legend drug in solid dosage form  that fails to comply with the\nrequirements of KRS 217.907 to 217.915 shall be fined not less than one hundred\ndollars ($100) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500) for each offense.","path":["KRS Chapter 217"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=9492","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:27Z","sha256":"db688bc42a904ca45105ae093b93ca622fadf27eb2fab2fd19e9f6f4f07e798b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-217.952","next":"us-ky/krs-217.991"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
