{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-218a.1431","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 218A.1431","heading":"Definitions for KRS 218A.1431 to 218A.1438 and KRS 218A.141.","body":"As used in KRS 218A.1431 to 218A.1438 and KRS 218A.141, the following definitions\napply:\n(1) \"Manufacture\" means the production, preparation, propagation, compounding,\nconversion, or processing of methamphetamine, or possession with intent to\nmanufacture, either directly or indirectly by extraction from substances of natural\norigin or independently by means of chemical synthesis, or by a combination of\nextraction and chemical synthesis, except that this term does not include activities:\n(a) By a practitione r incident to administering or dispensing of a controlled\nsubstance in the course of his professional practice; or\n(b) By a practitioner, or by his authorized agent under his supervision, for the\npurpose of, or incident to, research, teaching, or chemical analysis; or\n(c) By a pharmacist incident to dispensing of a controlled substance in the course\nof his professional practice.\n(2) \"Methamphetamine\" means any substance that contains any quantity of\nmethamphetamine, including its salts, isomers, and salts of isomers.\n(3) \"Traffic\" means to distribute, dispense, sell, transfer, or possess with intent to\ndistribute, dispense, or sell methamphetamine.","path":["KRS Chapter 218A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=9656","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:30Z","sha256":"bfb64cbc347bb6f07c63480793ee849302abf500cdba915528fd97e4084e4012","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-218a.1430","next":"us-ky/krs-218a.1432"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
