{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-219.320","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 219.320","heading":"Definitions for KRS 219.330 to 219.410.","body":"As used in KRS 219.330 to 219.410:\n(1) \"Secretary\" means the secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services;\n(2) \"Cabinet\" means the Cabinet for Health and Family Services;\n(3) \"Manufactured home\" means a single -family residential dwelling constructed in\naccordance with the Nationa l Manufactured Housing Construction in Safety\nStandards Act, manufactured after June 15, 1976, and designed to be used as a\nsingle-family residential dwelling with or without a permanent foundation when\nconnected to the required utilities, and including pl umbing, heating, air\nconditioning, and electrical systems. A manufactured home may also be used as a\nplace of business, profession, or trade by the owner, the lessee, or the assigns of the\nowner or lessee and may comprise an integral unit or condominium st ructure.\nBuildings, the construction of which are not preempted by the National\nManufactured Housing Construction in Safety Standards Act, are subject to the\nbuilding code requirements of KRS Chapter 198B;\n(4) \"Mobile home\" means a structure manufactured prior to June 15, 1976, that was not\nrequired to be constructed in accordance with the National Manufactured Housing\nConstruction in Safety Standards Act, that is transportable in one (1) or more\nsections, that, in the traveling mode is eight (8) body feet or more in width and forty\n(40) body feet or more in length, or when erected on site, four hundred (400) or\nmore square feet, and that is built on a permanent chassis and designed to be used as\na dwelling on a temporary or permanent foundation, when connec ted with the\npermanent required utilities, including plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and\nelectrical systems;\n(5) \"Manufactured or mobile home lot\" means a parcel of land in a manufactured or\nmobile home community for the placement of a single manufact ured or mobile\nhome;\n(6) \"Manufactured or mobile home community\" means a parcel of land, under single or\nmultiple ownership and developed specifically for the purpose of leasing two (2) or\nmore residential spaces for the location of manufactured or mobile home dwellings\nand which contain common facilities and utilities located on the premises as\nlicensed by the cabinet;\n(7) \"Community\" means a manufactured home,  mobile home, and recreational vehicle\ncommunity;\n(8) \"ANSI/NFPA\" means the American National Sta ndards Institute/National Fire\nProtection Association;\n(9) \"Underskirting\" means a weather resistant material used to enclose the space from\nthe bottom of a manufactured or mobile home to grade;\n(10) \"Person\" means an individual, or a firm, partnership, co mpany, corporation, trustee,\nassociation, or any public or private entity owning or operating a community;\n(11) \"Recreational vehicle\" means any of the following:\n(a) \"Travel trailer\" means a vehicular, portable structure built on a chassis,\ndesigned to be used as a temporary dwelling for travel, recreation, or vacation;\n(b) \"Pickup coach\" means a structure designed to be mounted on a truck for use\nas a temporary dwelling for travel, recreation, or vacation;\n(c) \"Motorhome\" means a portable, temporary dwelling to be used for travel,\nrecreation, or vacation, constructed as an integral part of a self -propelled\nvehicle;\n(d) \"Camping trailer\" means a canvas or other collapsible folding structure,\nmounted on wheels and designed for travel, recreation, or vacation use;\n(e) \"Dependent recreational vehicle\" means a recreational vehicle which does not\nhave toilet, lavatory, or bathing facilities; or\n(f) \"Self-contained recreational vehicle\" means a recreational vehicle whic h can\noperate independent of connections to sewer, water, and electric systems. It\ncontains a water -flushed toilet, lavatory, shower or bath, kitchen sink, all of\nwhich are connected to water storage and sewage holding tanks located within\nthe recreational vehicle;\n(12) \"Recreational vehicle community\" means a parcel of land available to the public in\nwhich two (2) or more recreational vehicle spaces are occupied or intended for\noccupancy by recreational vehicles for transient dwelling purposes and includes any\nservice building, structure, enclosure, or other facility used as a part of the\ncommunity;\n(13) \"Recreational vehicle space\" means a parcel of land in a recreational vehicle\ncommunity for the placement of a single recreational vehicle;\n(14) \"Sanitary station\" means a facility used for receiving and disposing of wastes from\nrecreational vehicle holding tanks;\n(15) \"Service building\" means a building containing water closets, urinals, lavatories,\nand bathing facilities for use by persons using the community; and\n(16) \"Watering station\" means a facility for filling the water storage tanks of recreational\nvehicles with potable water from an approved water system.","path":["KRS Chapter 219"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=9755","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:32Z","sha256":"0754c5b092e0d9887390315bd4f61a6886d0d10e2c55fccc2a0c91840f9aef44","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-219.310","next":"us-ky/krs-219.330"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
