{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-21a.170","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 21A.170","heading":"In -service training for judges, domestic relations commissioners, and trial","body":"commissioners on child sexual abuse, domestic violence, and crimes against the\nelderly.\nThe Supreme Court shall provide, at least once every two (2) years, in -service training\nprograms for Circuit Judges, District Judges, and domestic relations and trial\ncommissioners in:\n(1) Child development, the dynamics of physical and sexual abuse, the impact of\nviolence on child development, the treatment of offenders, and related issues;\n(2) Dynamics of domestic violence, effects of domestic violence on adult and child\nvictims, legal remedies for protection, lethality and risk issues, model protocols for\naddressing domestic violence, available community resources and victims services,\nand reporting requirements; and\n(3) Dynamics of crimes against the elderly, including but not limited to elder abuse,\nneglect, and exploitation; the effects of these crimes on the elderly, institutions in\nwhich they may reside, and their families; legal remed ies for protection; lethality\nand risk issues; financial implications; model protocols for addressing elder abuse,\nneglect, and exploitation and other crimes against the elderly; available community\nresources and victims services; and reporting requirements.\nEach Circuit Judge, District Judge, and trial and domestic relations commissioner shall\nsuccessfully complete the training prescribed by the Supreme Court by rule.","path":["KRS Chapter 21A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=20543","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:42Z","sha256":"7c837d28801b5e6ee9ad8132774b4fb1457580372fa86aaadcafe32c7173363c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-21a.160","next":"us-ky/krs-21a.180"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
