{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-220.380","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 220.380","heading":"Bonds may be issued by district -- Applicability of KRS 107.010 to 107.220.","body":"(1) To defray the cost of organizing the district and the preliminary expense after\norganization, and for the purpose of acquiring any sanitary works authorized by\nKRS 220.010 to 220.520, and any appurtenances or extensions thereto, either by\npurchase or construction, the district through its board of directors may borrow\nmoney and issue negotiable bonds, which shall be known as \"Sanitation District\nBonds\" and shall be so engraved or printed on their face following the name of the\nissuing district. No such  bonds shall be issued until authorized by resolution\nspecifying the purpose for which the funds are to be used and the proposed\nundertaking, the amount of bonds to be issued and the maximum rate of interest the\nbonds are to bear. The resolution shall furt her provide that the sanitary works,\nappurtenances or extensions are to be acquired pursuant to the provisions of KRS\n220.010 to 220.520.\n(2) The district may use the authority and procedures granted to incorporated\nmunicipalities by KRS 107.010 to 107.220  to accomplish its purposes pursuant to\nsubsection (1) of this section. When applied to sanitation districts, terms used in\nKRS 107.010 to 107.220 shall be construed to mean the following: \"city\" means\n\"district\"; \"ordinance\" means \"resolution\"; \"clerk\" me ans \"secretary\" or \"secretary-\ntreasurer\"; \"governing body\" means \"board of directors\"; and \"mayor\" means\n\"president of the board of directors.\" The provisions of this subsection shall not\nrepeal or reduce any existing rights or duties of the district but s hall constitute an\nadditional method of financing.","path":["KRS Chapter 220"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=9810","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:32Z","sha256":"b357042fa50c1da406f5e47407abceac20acdd6cf56f2be0cab482ce16688975","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-220.370","next":"us-ky/krs-220.390"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
