{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-222.462","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 222.462","heading":"Cabinet to review and improve substance use disorder treatment and","body":"recovery services and programs operating within the Commonwealth --\nAdministrative regulations.\n(1) The Cabinet for Health and Family Services shall conduct a comprehensive revi ew\nof all current state licensure and quality standards that apply to substance use\ndisorder treatment and recovery services and programs that operate within the\nCommonwealth of Kentucky.\n(2) Based on the review conducted pursuant to subsection (1) of this  section, the\ncabinet shall develop enhanced licensure and quality standards for substance use\ndisorder treatment and recovery that include but are not limited to residential,\noutpatient, and medication -assisted treatment (MAT) services. The enhanced\nstandards shall include, at a minimum, the following:\n(a) A set of comprehensive quality standards and criteria for substance use\ndisorder treatment and recovery services and programs that are based on\nnationally recognized and evidence-based standards;\n(b) Standardized, nationally recognized outcome measures for substance use\ndisorder treatment programs and a process for collection and review of results;\nand\n(c) Conditions necessary for reimbursement with state funds for the provision of\nsubstance use disorder treatment and recovery services and programs.\n(3) By January 1, 2019, the cabinet shall promulgate administrative regulations\nnecessary for implementing the enhanced licensure and quality standards, including\napplication fees for licenses, not to exceed th e direct and actual cost incurred by the\ncabinet to perform the licensure for substance use disorder treatment and recovery\nservices and programs.\n(4) The provisions of this section are subject to available funding.","path":["KRS Chapter 222"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=47238","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:34Z","sha256":"28eebfe0d0cb5cd18470647ed404170dd8825533e1c50d181f756f3a92a66c4d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-222.460","next":"us-ky/krs-222.465"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
