{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-222.508","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 222.508","heading":"Entities required to refer individuals to certified or recognized recovery","body":"residences -- Consideration of certified or recognized residences by courts --\nEligibility for state and federal funding.\nAfter June 30, 2024:\n(1) When referring an in dividual who is in need of recovery residency services, the\nfollowing individuals and entities shall only refer individuals to a recovery\nresidence that has provided the cabinet with proof of certification by a certifying\norganization as required by KRS 22 2.502(1) or that is recognized as part of the\nRecovery Kentucky Program administered by the Kentucky Housing Corporation:\n(a) State agencies;\n(b) State-contracted vendors;\n(c) Political subdivisions of the state;\n(d) Health care providers who are licensed in the Commonwealth; and\n(e) Behavioral health providers who are licensed in the Commonwealth.\n(2) When making orders or recommendations that an individual under its supervision\nreceive recovery residency services, any court of the Commonwealth shall give first\nconsideration to recovery residences that have provided the cabinet with proof of\ncertification by a certifying organization as required by KRS 222.502(1) or that are\nrecognized as part of the Recovery Kentucky Program administered by the\nKentucky Housing Corporation.\n(3) Only recovery residences that have provided the cabinet with proof of certification\nby a certifying agency as required by KRS 222.502(1) or that are recognized as part\nof the Recovery Kentucky Program administered by the Kentucky Hou sing\nCorporation shall be eligible to receive state funding and, to the extent permitted\nunder federal law, federal funding for the delivery of recovery residency services in\nthe Commonwealth.","path":["KRS Chapter 222"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53895","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:34Z","sha256":"32f22e7d9c5e1023a50df0bee1cf87126913283257e7e7fce37609c56360e416","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-222.506","next":"us-ky/krs-222.510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
