{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-223.030","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 223.030","heading":"Qualifications for registration -- Inactive status for previous registrants.","body":"(1) An applicant for registration shall file with the cabinet a written application for\nregistration and submit evidence that the applicant:\n(a) Has completed at least an app roved four (4) year high school or the\nequivalent; and\n(b) Has completed a four (4) year degree from a college or university, with a\nminor or twenty -four (24) semester hours in environmental health, biological\nscience, or physical science.\n(2) An applicant shall be required to pass a written examination in those subjects that\nthe cabinet prescribes. Written examinations may be supplemented by an oral\nexamination. Upon successfully passing these examinations, the applicant shall be\nissued a registration as an environmental health specialist or sanitarian.\n(3) Those persons previously registered by the cabinet and not engaged in\nenvironmental health practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, but desiring to\nmaintain the privilege to use the designation of envir onmental health specialist or\n\"E.H.S.\" and sanitarian or \"R.S.\" may apply and be granted inactive status by the\ncabinet in accordance with administrative regulations of the cabinet. Inactive status\nshall be renewed at least every two (2) years, and those p ersons granted inactive\nstatus shall not be governed by continuing education provisions contained in this\nchapter. A registered environmental health specialist or sanitarian on inactive status\nmay petition the cabinet for renewal of registration.
