{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-223.040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 223.040","heading":"Registration without examination for certain persons -- Limitation --","body":"Registration requirement for certain employment -- Probationary employment.\n(1) Persons on permanent status actively engaged in environmental health work for a\nrecognized and approv ed public health agency in this state on July 1, 1993, shall,\nupon furnishing adequate proof thereof to the cabinet, be entitled to be registered as\nan environmental health specialist or sanitarian without examination.\n(2) A request for a registration without examination must be submitted to the cabinet by\nOctober 31, 1993. After July 1, 1993, only persons registered as an environmental\nhealth specialist or sanitarian, unless otherwise exempted, shall be employed by the\ncabinet or local health agencies to p erform environmental health specialist\nactivities; the cabinet shall by administrative regulation provide for probationary\nemployment not to exceed twelve (12) months for persons to qualify through\nexamination when all other qualifications have been met.","path":["KRS Chapter 223"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=9960","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:34Z","sha256":"caa89673db3495fa9f8ab146e2e718438be1f26357740d2f7dfbdf128ad06f0b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-223.030","next":"us-ky/krs-223.050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
