{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-224.1-512","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 224.1-512","heading":"Definitions for KRS 224.1-510 to 224.1-532.","body":"As used in KRS 224.1-510 to 224.1-532:\n(1) \"Hazardous substance\" shall have the meaning in KRS 224.1 -400(1)(a) and also\ninclude any pollutant or contaminant, as those terms are defined in KRS 224.1 -\n400(1)(f), any hazardous substance, pollutant, or contamin ant designated by the\ncabinet in accordance with KRS 224.1 -400(2), and any hazardous substance\nincluded in KRS 224.1-400(3);\n(2) \"Petroleum\" shall have the meaning set forth in KRS 224.60-115(15);\n(3) \"Petroleum storage tank\" shall have the meaning set forth in KRS 224.60-115(16);\n(4) \"Property\" means a tract of real property for which an application has been\nsubmitted under KRS 224.1-514;\n(5) \"Remediation\" means the characterization of a release of a hazardous substance or\npetroleum, in accordance with KRS  224.1-400 for hazardous substances or KRS\n224.1-405 for petroleum, and any administrative regulations promulgated under\nthose statutes, and actions necessary to correct the effects of the release on the\nenvironment, as required by KRS 224.1-400 for hazardous substances, pollutants, or\ncontaminants or KRS 224.1 -405 for petroleum, and any administrative regulations\npromulgated under those statutes; and\n(6) \"Site\" shall have the meaning in KRS 224.1 -400(1)(c), and shall also refer to any\narea undergoing remediation as defined in subsection (5) of this section.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=47770","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:39Z","sha256":"4aac06669bc65ebf91dfa02b178fb45d1b1fc8d9f0a735a180f48f75ba905d56","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-224.1-510","next":"us-ky/krs-224.1-514"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
