The members\nof the board shall serve as Kentucky's members of interstate water sanitation control\ncommissions created by compacts to which Kentucky is a party, which compacts are\ncomposed of states forming a river basin, and which compacts require a three (3)\nmember representation from each state. The Governor shall appoint one (1) of the\nboard members, who shall be a resident and citizen of this state. The member shall\nbe appointed for a term of four (4) years, and shall hold office until his successor is\nappointed and qualified, subject to removal at the pleasure of the Governor. The\nLieutenant Governor and the secretary of the Energy and Environment Cabinet\nshall, ex officio, be the second and third members of the board. Except as otherwise\nprovided by the respective compacts, an ex officio member may delegate to any\ndeputy or other subordinate in his cabinet the power to be present and participate,\nincluding the right to vote, as his representative or substitute at any meeting, hearing\nor other proceeding of the commissions.\n(2) The membership of the first Interstate Water Sanitation Board shall be composed of\nthe membership of the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission existing on\nJune 19, 1958, and the terms of the appointed members shall be effective from the\ndate of their appointment to the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=10343","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:39Z","sha256":"3020cfb73b14d10075d5e8e2e8b3318519e4f5655cf5478a9b23620e73fcd433","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-224.18-220","next":"us-ky/krs-224.18-715"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
