{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-224.20-300","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 224.20-300","heading":"Purpose.","body":"For the purpose of adopting the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act, called\nAHERA, Public Law (99 -519), as amended, the cabinet may develop, adopt, and\nmaintain a comprehensive statewide asbestos assessment and response program and an\naccreditation prog ram that shall replicate the federal environmental protection agency\nmodel plan issued April 30, 1987 and the provisions of Title 40 of the Code of Federal\nRegulations, Part 763, Subpart E. The programs shall include but not be limited to:\n(1) Identifying and controlling asbestos hazards in public and private schools, grades K-\n12;\n(2) Providing for accreditation of asbestos inspectors, management planners, abatement\nproject designers, abatement contractors, supervisors, and abatement workers;\n(3) Reviewing training courses to determine if they are approvable under the criteria\nestablished in the April 30, 1987 model plan and any other criteria adopted by the\ncabinet; and\n(4) Reviewing school asbestos management plans and inspecting school buildings for\ncompliance with this section.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=10356","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:40Z","sha256":"47446143fc15460183ec9ab302d2e329455b9973847a885546e6f00e299c1f93","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-224.20-150","next":"us-ky/krs-224.20-310"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
