{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-224.20-720","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 224.20-720","heading":"Issuance of compliance or exemption certificates -- Certificate required","body":"for registration renewal -- Exception -- Inspection of state vehicles.\n(1) A compliance certificate shall be issued for each vehicle which meets and passes the\nannual inspecti on requirements. An exemption certificate may be issued under\nconditions adopted by the issuing authority, except that vehicles registered to\nmilitary personnel on active duty whose duty station is outside of a county where a\nvehicle exhaust testing progra m is implemented shall receive an exemption\ncertificate. A certificate shall be issued to a vehicle only at an official emissions\ninspection station established and operated under a valid permit issued by the\ncabinet. All certificates shall be serially num bered or otherwise identified.\nCertificates shall be strictly accounted for by the issuing authority.\n(2) No vehicle registered in counties required by the cabinet to have a vehicle emission\ncontrol program shall have its registration renewed pursuant to K RS Chapter 186\nwithout a valid compliance certificate or exemption certificate issued pursuant to\nKRS 224.20-710 to 224.20-765.
