{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-224.20-725","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 224.20-725","heading":"Emission inspection fee.","body":"(1) The cabinet shall establish the fee required to be paid for an emission inspection.\nThe fee may cover all costs of implementing KRS 224.20-710 to 224.20-765.\n(2) The fee charged for issuance of a compliance certificate or an exemption certificate\nshall be collected with the motor vehicle registration renewal fee by the county clerk\nat the time and place of motor vehicle registration pursuant to KRS Chapter 186,\nunless an independent contractor is authorized pursuant to KRS 224.20 -740 to\ncollect inspection fees.\n(3) Except as provided by KRS 224.20-740 and 224.20-750:\n(a) The clerk of each county shall collect the emission inspection fee; and\n(b) All money received from inspection fees by the county clerk shall be remitted\nquarterly to the cabinet, except for  a sum of no more than twenty -five cents\n($0.25) per vehicle which the county clerk may retain.\n(4) The cabinet shall promptly transmit all money collected pursuant to KRS 224.20 -\n710 to 224.20-765 to the State Treasurer who shall deposit it in the vehicle emission\ncontrol fund account.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=10367","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:40Z","sha256":"b0fb840f6ba77438abccdd72985706555f9c7a3e7a117b88d02da33e3641969d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-224.20-720","next":"us-ky/krs-224.20-730"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
