{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-224.20-750","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 224.20-750","heading":"Fleet inspection station.","body":"(1) Any registered owner or lessee of a fleet of vehicles may apply to the cabinet for a\npermit to establish at his own expense a fleet inspection station. The cabinet shall\nnot issue any fleet inspection station permit until it has found that the applicant:\n(a) Maintains an established place of business or facility for the repair and\nmaintenance of the applicant's fleet of vehicles;\n(b) Has obtained machinery, tools, and equipment approved by the cabinet and\nadequate to conduct the required emissions inspections;\n(c) Employs properly trained personnel with whom to perform the necessary\nlabor; and\n(d) Will keep complete records of all inspections performed and repairs made and\nwill provide the information or data to the cabinet.\n(2) An operator of a fleet inspec tion station holding a valid permit shall, upon filing an\napplication in the manner and form prescribed by the cabinet, receive a sufficient\nnumber of certificate forms for each vehicle in the applicant's fleet. No inspection\ncertificate shall be issued to  any fleet vehicle until it has been inspected and found\nto comply with all the standards that the vehicle would be required to meet at any\ninspection station.\n(3) No holder of a fleet inspection station permit shall inspect or certify any vehicle for\nwhich the permittee is not the registered owner or lessee.\n(4) Vehicles owned by a licensed vehicle dealer and which are held for resale as a part\nof the dealer's business inventory shall be deemed a part of the dealer's vehicle fleet\nfor purposes of this section.\n(5) The cabinet shall investigate the operation of each fleet inspection station as the\nconditions and circumstances of the operation may indicate. The cabinet may\nrequire the holder of any fleet permit to submit documentation concerning the\noperation of the inspection station. The cabinet may revoke and require the\nsurrender and forfeiture of any fleet inspection station permit and inspection\ncertificate forms held by a permittee if it finds that the station is not operated in\naccordance with KRS 224.20-710 to 224.20-765 or that the holder of the permit has\nfailed or refused to submit records or documentation required by KRS 224.20 -710\nto 224.20-765.\n(6) The holder of a fleet inspection station permit shall pay to the cabinet a fee in an\namount to be established by regulation.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=10372","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:40Z","sha256":"b8caecf55068230e1327e58596b80e73cec3dc8b834d6ea01df129fb53be4dc5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-224.20-745","next":"us-ky/krs-224.20-755"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
