{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-224.43-614","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 224.43-614","heading":"Requirements for new solid waste disposal facilities and horizontal","body":"expansions of existing facilities -- Exemption -- Implementing procedures.\n(1) All new solid waste disposal facilities and horizontal expansions of existing solid\nwaste disposal fa cilities, with the exception of construction/demolition or residual\nlandfills, shall meet the design, operating, monitoring, and recordkeeping\nrequirements for contained landfills as defined in accordance with administrative\nregulations adopted by the cabi net. Special waste, as defined in KRS 224.50 -760,\nexcept for waste from sanitary wastewater treatment facilities, shall be exempt from\nthis section.\n(2) Limited quantity generator hazardous waste as defined by the cabinet and its\nadministrative regulations  shall not be disposed in a solid waste disposal facility\nunless the facility meets the recordkeeping, groundwater monitoring, leachate\ncollection and control systems, and liner system requirements of the administrative\nregulations adopted by the cabinet for contained landfills.\n(3) The cabinet shall implement procedures to assist limited quantity hazardous waste\ngenerators to dispose of such waste in compliance with the requirements of this\nsection. Such procedures shall include assistance in the developme nt of limited\nquantity waste collection and disposal programs, and maintenance of a list of waste\nsites or facilities which meet the requirements of this section.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=10428","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:40Z","sha256":"6ae2e8baf0f9641a29fd2d127e284ff6109f40a8e6a62d3301f0d64354622347","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-224.43-610","next":"us-ky/krs-224.43-710"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
