{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-224.46-320","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 224.46-320","heading":"Powers and duties of center.","body":"The center shall:\n(1) Compile, organize, and make available for distribution information on pollution\nprevention technologies and procedures;\n(2) Compile, and make available for distribution to business and industry, a list of\nexpert private consultants on pollution prevention technologies and procedures, and\na list of researchers at state universities that could provide assistance in waste\nreduction activities;\n(3) Sponsor and conduct conferences and individualized workshops on pollution\nprevention for specific classes of business or industry;\n(4) Conduct feasibility analyses for innovative pollution prevention technologies and\nprocedures;\n(5) Facilitate and promote the transfer of pollution prevention technologies and\nprocedures between businesses and industries;\n(6) Develop, where appropriate, and distribute for voluntary implementation, pollution\nprevention plans for the major classes of business or industry that generate\nhazardous waste or release toxic chemicals in the state;\n(7) Develop, and make available for distribution,  recommended environmental audit\nprocedures or protocols for utilization by business and industry in conducting\ninternal environmental audits;\n(8) Administer loan, loan guarantee, interest subsidy, or grant programs which may be\nestablished pursuant to law  for the purpose of providing moneys to a business or\nindustry to subsidize the costs of conducting environmental audits or source\nreduction studies, or developing or purchasing, and implementing, source reduction\ntechnologies and procedures, or for other similar purposes;\n(9) Provide moneys, from such funds as may be appropriated or otherwise made\navailable, to academic institutions, businesses or industries, government agencies or\nprivate organizations located in the state to conduct demonstration or pilot programs\nutilizing innovative pollution prevention technologies or procedures for specific\ncategories of industry or business;\n(10) Provide moneys, from such funds as may be appropriated or otherwise made\navailable, to academic institutions or private or ganizations located in the state for\nbasic or applied research on pollution prevention;\n(11) Compile, and make available for distribution, information on available tax benefits\nfor the implementation of pollution prevention technologies and procedures by a n\nindustry or business;\n(12) Identify governmental and nongovernmental impediments to pollution prevention;\n(13) Develop the necessary information base and data collection programs to assist in\nestablishing program priorities and evaluating the progress of reducing pollution;\n(14) Develop training programs and materials for state and local regulatory personnel\nand private industry, designed to inform about pollution prevention practices and\ntheir applicability to industry;\n(15) Participate in existing state, federal and industrial networks of individuals and\ngroups actively involved in pollution prevention activities; and\n(16) Prepare a proposed pollution prevention research and program budget request for\neach fiscal year, based on revenue projections and providing for the expenses of the\nboard, the board's technical advisor, and recommendations of the university, and\npresent it to the board for review and approval.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=10441","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:41Z","sha256":"3183f2c385c90e9a95692cb6a017326fc9acf087aefb55ee700f2930b4eeb132","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-224.46-315","next":"us-ky/krs-224.46-325"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
