{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-224.46-590","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 224.46-590","heading":"Feasibility study of hazardous waste treatment -industrial park complex","body":"plan.\nThe secretary of the Cabinet for Economic Development shall cooperate with the special\nassistant to the Governor for coal and energy policy in examining the feasibility of  a\nhazardous waste treatment -industrial park complex approach to the siting of hazardous\nwaste management facilities and the promotion of industrial development. Consistent\nwith the state policy of encouraging reuse and treatment of hazardous waste and of\nminimizing land disposal, the study shall be based on development of integrated facilities\nconsisting of a variety of treatment and disposal systems at a given site associated with\nindustrial plants. The study shall at a minimum:\n(1) Survey the attitudes of various industries towards this approach;\n(2) Survey public attitudes and perceptions towards this approach;\n(3) Identify the advantages and disadvantages to industry, the Commonwealth, and\nlocal communities;\n(4) Survey the degree to which the availabili ty of hazardous waste management\nfacilities has a bearing on the location of new industry;\n(5) Develop a list of industry types with compatible waste streams for exchange,\nneutralization, or incineration;\n(6) Identify economic or technical barriers to this approach; and\n(7) Report its findings and recommendations to the 1982 General Assembly.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=10455","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:41Z","sha256":"56e9ff1363dcb9b330c929da5a6e3019591c0f8c64e63c44209747021d7aa1d1","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-224.46-580","next":"us-ky/krs-224.46-810"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
