{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-224.50-765","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 224.50-765","heading":"Biosolids -- Designation as special waste -- Administrative regulations","body":"for siting and permitting of biosolids disposal.\n(1) As used in this section, \"biosolids\" means nutrient -rich, organic, residual material\nthat results from the treatme nt of domestic sewage or sewage sludge in a treatment\nfacility and can be recycled and applied as a fertilizer to improve and maintain\nproductive soils.\n(2) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, when biosolids are generated\nfrom wastewater treatment at a publicly owned treatment works, the biosolids shall\nbe:\n(a) Designated a special waste; and\n(b) Regulated in conformance with the most recent version of 40 C.F.R. pt. 503.\n(3) Within sixty (60) days of June 29, 2023, the cabinet shall promulgate administrative\nregulations pursuant to KRS Chapter 13A that are in conformance with 40 C.F.R.\npt. 503, regarding siting criteria and permitting conditions necessary to regulate the\ndisposal of biosolids.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53655","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:41Z","sha256":"38fe13db1c14426326f3005957e6b0fd07d02ca05d942b44b9ef8ee7ae20b192","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-224.50-760","next":"us-ky/krs-224.50-820"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
