{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-224.50-880","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 224.50-880","heading":"Waste tire trust fund.","body":"(1) A waste tire trust fund is established in the state treasury. The fund shall be used by\nthe cabinet for the following purposes:\n(a) Properly managing waste tires;\n(b) Paying the costs associated with any waste tire amnesty program established\nby the cabinet that permits waste tires to be turned in without incurring fees,\ncharges, or penalties;\n(c) Paying the Department of Revenue's costs of assessing and collecting the fee\nestablished by KRS 224.50-868;\n(d) Entering into the agreements described in KRS 224.50-876; and\n(e) Awarding the grants described in KRS 224.50-878.\nThe cabinet shall utilize no more than twenty -five percent (25%) of the funds for\nthe administrative costs related to implementing the waste tire program. All\nremaining funds shall be utiliz ed, in accordance with KRS 224.50 -850 to 224.50 -\n880, for waste tire amnesty programs, crumb rubber grants, tire -derived fuel\nprograms, and other projects that will manage waste tires as appropriate to protect\nhuman health, safety, and the environment, or to develop markets for waste tires.\n(2) All interest earned on money in the fund shall be credited to the fund.\n(3) Money unexpended at the end of a fiscal year shall not lapse to the general fund.\n(4) Any money remaining in the waste tire trust fund establ ished by KRS 224.50 -820\nshall be transferred to the fund established by this section.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=39682","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:41Z","sha256":"aec1dbab502c0a2cdbb342d23ed93d3f22ab24829d58bd109a68056976efc413","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-224.50-878","next":"us-ky/krs-224.510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
