{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-226.050","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 226.050","heading":"Pawnbroker to give ticket and receipt for articles -- Sale after sixty days --","body":"Notice before sale.\n(1) Every pawnbroker shall give a plain written or printed ticket for the loan to the\nperson negotiating or selling, and a plain written or printed rece ipt of the articles\nthat have been purchased, or upon which money is loaned, having on each a copy of\nthe entries required by KRS 226.040 to be kept in his register. He shall not make\nany charge for the ticket or receipt.\n(2) A pawnbroker may sell any arti cle pawned after the expiration of sixty (60) days\nfrom the maturity of the loan, provided that, not less than ten (10) days before\nmaking the sale, the pawnbroker shall have given notice to the person by whom the\narticle was pawned, by mail addressed to t he post office address of such person as\nshown on the pawnbroker's register, notifying such person that, unless he redeems\nthe article within ten (10) days from the date of mailing said notice, the article will\nbe sold.","path":["KRS Chapter 226"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=10603","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:43Z","sha256":"8896c63422a922be0a4849c92337fadbbb665a353103ef1a78f7270711d52d24","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-226.040","next":"us-ky/krs-226.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
