{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-227.460","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 227.460","heading":"Application of KRS 227.450 to 227.500.","body":"(1) KRS 227.450 to 227.500 shall not apply to installations under the exclusive control\nof electric utilities for the purpose of communication, metering, or for the\ngeneration, control, transformation, transmission, and distribution of electric energy\nlocated in buildings used exclusively by utilities for such purposes or located\noutdoors on property owned or leased by the utility or on public highways, streets or\nroads, or outdoors by established rights on private property.\n(2) Notwithstanding any other provis ion of this chapter, for electrical work not related\nto buildings for human occupancy performed between the service disconnect and a\nfacility owned or operated by an electric utility by or on behalf of the Kentucky\nTransportation Cabinet by prequalified electrical contractors within the public right-\nof-way, the electrical contractor shall have the option of having the electrical\ninspection conducted by an electrical inspector:\n(a) Appointed by a local government under KRS 227.480; or\n(b) Approved by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.","path":["KRS Chapter 227"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52667","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:44Z","sha256":"d2cf8506db2fcc75b74724ad6baf90221c32789dd1f21b936b8389c2d8ececa0","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-227.450","next":"us-ky/krs-227.470"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
