Examinations\nshall be based on the National Electrical Code incorporated in the Uniform State\nBuilding Code and the standards of safety prescribed by the department. Electrical\ninspectors who have been engaged in the inspection of electrical light and power\nwiring installations, based on the requirements of the National Electrical Code, for a\nperiod of three (3) years, may be certified on the basis of knowledge of this subject\nand  experience.
