{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-227.570","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 227.570","heading":"Construction and  installation standards  and  requirements  for","body":"manufactured  homes, mobile homes, and previously owned  recreational\nvehicles -- Certified installer seal -- Inspection -- Fees.\n(1) The department shall promulgate administrative regulations in accordance with\nKRS  Chapter 13A to:\n(a) Establish a process for certifying installers, licensing retailers, and issuing\ncertificates of acceptability to qualifying manufacturers pursuant to KRS\n227.550 to 227.660;\n(b) Establish and enforce standards and requirements for the installation of\nplumbing, heating, and electrical systems in manufactured homes  and\nmobile homes  and  for previously owned  recreational vehicles as it\ndetermines are reasonably necessary in order to protect the health and\nsafety of the occupants and the public; and\n(c) Establish and enforce standards and requirements for the body and\nframe design, construction, and installation of manufactured homes  and\nmobile homes  as it determines are reasonably necessary in order to\nprotect the health and safety of the occupants and the public.\n(2) All installations of manufactured homes and mobile homes shall be performed:\n(a) By an installer certified by the department; and\n(b) In accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, if available, or the\ncurrent ANSI standard or the generally accepted industry standard as\nadopted by the department through the promulgation of an administrative\nregulation.\n(3) A  certified installer shall apply for a certified installer seal prior to installing a\nmanufactured home  or a mobile home.  The department shall promulgate\nadministrative regulations in accordance with KRS  Chapter 13A to establish a\nschedule of fees and the requirements for purchase and application of the seal,\nreport procedures, and attachment of the certified installer seal.\n(4) The  installation of a new  manufactured home  shall be inspected under\nsubsection (3) of this section. The retailer of the inspected property shall pay a\nnew  manufactured home installation inspection fee in an amount not to exceed\none hundred fifty dollars ($150).\n(5) The  department shall specify the new  manufactured home  installation fee\nestablished in subsection (4) of this section through the promulgation of an\nadministrative regulation. The department may  increase the fee, but by no\nmore than ten percent (10%) per year, and at no time shall the fee exceed one\nhundred fifty dollars ($150).\n(6) All fees received by the department under this section shall be deposited in the\ntrust and agency fund specified in KRS 227.620(5).","path":["KRS Chapter 227"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46967","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:44Z","sha256":"d32d2b6a2448423123c308c896ab7e3696fcf1b096acd322ced3b37f8b9c8959","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-227.565","next":"us-ky/krs-227.580"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
