{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-227.600","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 227.600","heading":"Seal required on  manufactured  homes,  mobile  homes,  and","body":"recreational vehicles offered for sale -- Seal for manufactured homes  and\nmobile homes  purchased in another state.\n(1) Any retailer who has acquired a previously owned manufactured home, mobile\nhome,  or recreational vehicle without a seal shall apply to the department for\nthe appropriate seal by submitting an affidavit that the unit has been brought up\nto or meets reasonable standards established by the department for previously\nowned  manufactured homes, mobile homes, or recreational vehicles. Those\nmanufactured homes or mobile homes taken in trade shall be reinspected and\ncertified. A numbered Class B1 Seal shall be affixed by the retailer to the unit\nprior to sale. A seal shall not be required if the retailer submits an affidavit that\nthe unit will not be resold for use by the public. A retailer shall not transport or\ninstall a manufactured or mobile home  which is to be used for residential\npurposes which does not have a Class B1 Seal.\n(2) The owner of any manufactured home  or mobile home  that is not covered by\nthe federal act, was purchased in another state, and does not bear a seal of\napproval shall purchase a seal from the department. Application to purchase a\nseal of approval shall be made to the department.\n(3) The department shall make available suitable forms for application for seals of\napproval for previously owned  manufactured homes  or mobile homes  which\nare not covered by the federal act and for previously owned  recreational\nvehicles.\n(4) The  clerk of the county in which a manufactured home, mobile home, or\npreviously owned  recreational vehicle is sought to be registered, which was\npurchased out of Kentucky, shall require production of proof of purchase of a\nseal of approval as provided in subsection (2) of this section before registering\nor issuing a license for any manufactured home, mobile home, or previously\nowned  recreational vehicle.","path":["KRS Chapter 227"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46970","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:44Z","sha256":"c45a22e986e3e82648073eb9ef8c8008aea5139cb5a4e512d8588fe8c408cce5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-227.590","next":"us-ky/krs-227.605"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
