{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-227.780","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 227.780","heading":"Administrative regulations -- Department of Revenue inspections --","body":"Examinations by Attorney General and state fire marshal.\n(1) The state fire marshal may promulgate administrative regulations if necessary to\ncarry out the purposes of KRS 227.770 to 2 27.784 in accordance with the\nprovisions of KRS Chapter 13A.\n(2) The Department of Revenue, in the regular course of conducting inspections of\nwholesale dealers and retailers as authorized under the provisions of KRS 138.130\nto 138.205, may inspect cigaret tes to determine if the cigarettes are marked as\nrequired by KRS 227.776. If the cigarettes are not marked as required, the\nDepartment of Revenue shall notify the state fire marshal.\n(3) (a) To enforce provisions of KRS 227.770 to 227.784, the Attorney Gen eral and\nthe state fire marshal are authorized to examine the books, papers, invoices,\nand other records of any person in possession, control, or occupancy of any\npremises where cigarettes are placed, stored, sold, or offered for sale, as well\nas the stock of cigarettes on the premises.\n(b) Every person in the possession, control, or occupancy of any premises where\ncigarettes are placed, sold, or offered for sale is directed and required to give\nthe Attorney General and the state fire marshal the means, fac ilities, and\nopportunity for the examinations authorized by this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 227"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=10710","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:44Z","sha256":"3006e01394fe5162c58872c5c776b0fa44725329bf2d84edfc8c3ca81d69aa39","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-227.778","next":"us-ky/krs-227.782"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
