{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-227.782","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 227.782","heading":"Fire prevention and public safety fund.","body":"(1) There is hereby established in the State Treasury a special fund to be known as the\nfire prevention and public safety fund. The fund shall consist of all moneys\nrecovered as penalties under KRS 227.778 and moneys collected for fees pursuant\nto KRS 227.715.\n(2) Notwithstanding KRS 45.229, fund amounts not expended at the close of the fiscal\nyear shall not lapse but shall be carried forward to the next fiscal year.\n(3) Any interest earnings of the fund shall become a part of the fund and shall not lapse.\n(4) The moneys shall be deposited to the credit of the fund and shall, in addition to any\nother moneys made available for such purpose, be made available to the state fire\nmarshal to administer this section, KRS 227.700 to 227.750 and 227.752 and to\nsupport fire safety and prevention programs.","path":["KRS Chapter 227"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=39510","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:44Z","sha256":"9401bf370a14639f77b6b4b56c1e14251b837e7f404e1311abdc2c02025fb24e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-227.780","next":"us-ky/krs-227.784"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
