{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-229.151","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 229.151","heading":"Kentucky  Boxing  and  Wrestling Commission  -- Membership  --","body":"Officers -- Compensation  -- Expenses -- Quorum.\n(1) The  Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission  is hereby created and\nestablished as an agency of state government charged with the responsibility\nfor regulatory oversight and  the establishment of sound  policies and\nprocedures  governing  the  conduct  of  unarmed  combat  within the\nCommonwealth  of Kentucky. The commission shall be organized within the\nPublic Protection Cabinet.\n(2) The commission shall consist of the following five (5) members:\n(a) The  secretary of the Public Protection Cabinet, or the secretary's\ndesignee, who shall serve as an ex officio, voting member; and\n(b) Four (4) members  who shall be appointed by the Governor as follows:\n1. One  (1) member  shall be a physician licensed to practice medicine\nin Kentucky;\n2. One  (1) member  shall be an attorney licensed to practice law in\nKentucky;\n3. One  (1) member  shall have experience in sports marketing or\npromotion; and\n4. At least one (1) member  shall have no financial interest in the\nbusiness or industry regulated.\n(3) The  Governor shall designate one (1) member  to serve as the commission's\nchairperson. The Governor shall further designate a second member  to serve\nas vice chairperson with authority to act in the absence of the chairperson or if\nthe office of the chairperson is vacant.\n(4) A majority of the members  of the commission shall constitute a quorum for the\ntransaction of business.\n(5) The appointed members  of the commission shall serve for a term of three (3)\nyears. Any  member  appointed to fill a vacancy occurring other than by\nexpiration of a term shall be appointed for the remainder of the unexpired term.\n(6) Members  of the commission shall receive one hundred dollars ($100) per day\nfor each meeting attended and shall be reimbursed for all expenses paid or\nincurred in the discharge of official business.","path":["KRS Chapter 229"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46096","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:45Z","sha256":"af188821052559f25cffc70f049784cfff28929f809089b37b30f6648ea507ba","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-229.150","next":"us-ky/krs-229.155"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
