{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-230.3612","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 230.3612","heading":"Unredeemed pari -mutuel vouchers deemed property of licensed","body":"association -- Distribution of funds -- Annual report to corporation.\nNotwithstanding any law to the contrary:\n(1) All funds from unredeemed pari -mutuel vouchers presumed abandoned un der KRS\n230.361 shall be deemed property of the licensed association. All licensed\nassociations shall report to the corporation by December 31 of each year their use of\nfunds from unredeemed pari -mutuel vouchers. The funds from unredeemed pari -\nmutuel vouchers shall be used in the following manner:\n(a) For Thoroughbreds, standardbreds, quarter horses, paint horses, Appaloosas,\nor Arabian horses, by using:\n1. Twenty-five percent (25%) for the administration and regulation of live\nhorse racing; and\n2. Sixty-five percent (65%) for health, safety, or track and facility\nimprovements, at a licensed track in Kentucky, and:\na. As a condition for using moneys under this subparagraph, a\nlicensed association shall agree to comply with any requirements\nthat the corporation determines;\nb. The moneys used under this subparagraph shall be used for health\nand safety improvements, as well as construction projects,\nincluding without limitation, barns, living quarters, kitchens,\ndormitories, and recreational areas; and\nc. A licensed association may agree to a transfer of these moneys to\nanother licensed association or track with the approval of the\ncorporation; and\n(b) By transferring ten percent (10%) to the corporation to be deposited in the\nKentucky problem gambling assi stance account established by KRS 230.826;\nand\n(2) All funds held by a licensed track from unredeemed pari-mutuel vouchers:\n(a)  Issued at least one (1) year prior to March 27, 2025, shall be deemed property\nof the licensed track; and\n(b) Shall be separate d, maintained, and used in the manner provided in this\nsection.","path":["KRS Chapter 230"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56023","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:46Z","sha256":"9f249d0386e5ad9f0f3e14cec5b334a6db89adb94cb4dfdcbfd23b9e11f764a2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-230.3611","next":"us-ky/krs-230.3615"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
