{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-230.379","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 230.379","heading":"Telephone account wagering -- Use of credit card.","body":"(1) A track may engage in telephone account wagering, if all moneys used to place\ntelephone account wagers are on deposit in an amount sufficient to cover the\nwagers at the track where the account is opened. All moneys wagered by telephone\naccount wagering sha ll be subject to the applicable pari -mutuel tax levied in KRS\n138.510 and shall form a common pool with other pari -mutuel pools at the track for\neach posted race. The corporation shall have authority to promulgate necessary and\nreasonable administrative re gulations to regulate the conduct of telephone account\nwagering, including regulations for the deposit of funds by credit or debit cards or\nother means of electronic funds transfer.\n(2) A track shall accept and tabulate a telephone account wager only from the holder of\na telephone wagering account. No person shall directly or indirectly act as an\nintermediary, transmitter, or agent in the placing of wagers for a holder of a\ntelephone wagering account. No person shall in any manner place a wager through\ntelephone account wagering, on behalf of a holder of a telephone wagering account.\nOnly the holder of a telephone wagering account shall place a telephone wager.\nAny person violating this subsection shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.\n(3) Telephone accou nt wagering conducted in accordance with the provisions of this\nsection shall not be considered a violation of KRS 528.110.","path":["KRS Chapter 230"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54718","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:46Z","sha256":"a43b54248ccaa071196741137fb96047aaab66f2e10417bbc33d06b35a55e10a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-230.378","next":"us-ky/krs-230.380"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
