{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-230.775","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 230.775","heading":"Definitions for KRS 230.775 to 230.785.","body":"As used in KRS 230.775 to 230.785, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Hub\" means an international wagering hub, a business which, through a qualified\nsubscriber-based service, conducts pari -mutuel wagering on the horse races that it\nsimulcasts and other races that it carries in its wagering menu;\n(2) \"Qualified subscriber -based service\" means any information service or system,\nincluding but not limited to a closed-loop system, that uses:\n(a) A device or combination of devices authorized and operate d exclusively for\nplacing, receiving, or otherwise making pari -mutuel wagers on horse races by\na customer subscriber base through accounts established with the operator of\nthe hub;\n(b) An effective customer verification and age verification system; and\n(c) Appropriate data security standards to prevent unauthorized access by\nnonsubscribers or minors;\n(3) \"Foreign jurisdiction\" means states other than Kentucky, a territory of the United\nStates, a foreign country, or any political subdivision thereof;\n(4) \"Corporation\" means the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation or its\nsuccessor; and\n(5) \"Call center\" means that portion of a qualified subscriber -based service that is\nphysically located in the Commonwealth, where wagers are placed, received, or\notherwise made by a customer subscriber base through accounts established with\nthe operator of the hub.","path":["KRS Chapter 230"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54728","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:47Z","sha256":"4a37db9ed5f88c5f6a0e808d21bf867dd56f894e8655f30a898d6736a079feb7","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-230.770","next":"us-ky/krs-230.777"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
