{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-230.811","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 230.811","heading":"License required to conduct sports wagering -- Prerequisites to obtaining","body":"sports wagering license -- Fees.\n(1) Except as provided in KRS 230.805(6), no person shall conduct, manage, or offer to\nconduct sports wagering within the Commonw ealth of Kentucky without obtaining\na license from the corporation.\n(2) As a prerequisite to obtaining a sports wagering license, a person shall be licensed\nas an association under KRS 230.300. If sports wagering is conducted by the track\nthat chooses not to contract with a service provider, it shall comply with the\nstandards established by the corporation for service providers to ensure the integrity\nof the system of sports wagering before conducting sports wagering in the\nCommonwealth.\n(3) In addition to the requirement in subsection (2) of this section, an initial fee of five\nhundred thousand dollars ($500,000) shall be paid to the corporation before a sports\nwagering license may be issued to a track.\n(4) An annual renewal fee of fifty thousand dollars ($ 50,000) shall be required for each\nsports wagering license.\n(5) (a) A track or association shall not manage or offer to conduct fixed -odds\nwagering within the Commonwealth of Kentucky without obtaining a\nsupplemental license from the corporation.\n(b) An initial fee of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) shall be paid to\nthe corporation before a supplemental license may be issued to a track or\nassociation.\n(c) An annual renewal fee of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) shall be\nrequired for a supplemental license.\n(6) Licensing fees under this section shall be paid to the corporation.","path":["KRS Chapter 230"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=58135","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:47Z","sha256":"59aba0e51ef2ade199f36c1a8ead2862b1461b8f55374a5cf4a92ba43f0387b7","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-230.808","next":"us-ky/krs-230.814"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
