{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-230.830","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 230.830","heading":"Operation and regulation of fantasy contests -- Duties of corporation --","body":"Restrictions -- Administrative regulations.\n(1) The corporation shall promulgate administrative regulations in accordance with\nKRS Chapter 13A to govern the operation of  fantasy contests and enforce KRS\n230.830 to 230.848, but the corporation shall not limit or restrict lawful fantasy\ncontests solely by labeling them as sports wagering, except the corporation may\nclassify a contest as sports wagering when warranted by its  actual characteristics\nand consistent with state and federal law.\n(2) The corporation shall:\n(a) Regulate the conduct of fantasy contest service providers;\n(b) Promulgate administrative regulations to regulate fantasy contests no later\nthan one hundred eighty (180) days after July 15, 2026;\n(c) Require a fantasy contest service provider to use geolocation technology to\nverify that a fantasy contest participant is physically present in the\nCommonwealth when submitting an entry unless otherwise authorized by  the\ncorporation; and\n(d) Exercise any other powers necessary to enforce the provisions of KRS\n230.830 to 230.848.\n(3) The corporation and fantasy contest service providers shall cooperate with\ninvestigations conducted by law enforcement agencies, includin g but not limited to\nproviding and facilitating the provision of account level entry and participation\ninformation.\n(4) Any participant in a fantasy contest shall be at least eighteen (18) years old.\n(5) A licensed fantasy contest service provider shall no t be forced to surrender or\nterminate a license prior to the date of expiration of the license solely by virtue of a\nchange in the qualifications for licensure under KRS 230.830 to 230.848.","path":["KRS Chapter 230"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=58092","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:47Z","sha256":"e7e4f37b5908eed8081a563ebb38414fc7df84c26ef50cb6a7b559435c69f960","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-230.826","next":"us-ky/krs-230.832"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
