{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-230.832","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 230.832","heading":"Duties of fantasy contest service providers -- Requirements.","body":"Fantasy contest service providers shall:\n(1) Implement procedures to prevent fraud, abuse, and money laundering;\n(2) Establish technical and operational measures to prevent underage  participation in a\nfantasy contest;\n(3) Deploy identity verification procedures, which may require the use of a reputable\nindependent third party that can:\n(a) Verify a person's personally identifiable information; and\n(b) Detect potential prohibited participants;\n(4) Employ mechanisms on the fantasy contest service provider's platform that are\ndesigned to detect and prevent:\n(a) Unauthorized accounts;\n(b) Fraud;\n(c) Money laundering; and\n(d) Collusion; and\n(5) Make all commercially and technologically reasonable efforts to promptly notify\nthe corporation of:\n(a) A confirmed breach of the relevant sport's governing body's internal rules and\ncodes of conduct, if provided to the fantasy contest service provider,\npertaining to participation in real-money fantasy contests;\n(b) Any conduct that corrupts any outcome related to a sporting event or sporting\nevents for purposes of financial gain, including match fixing; and\n(c) Confirmed illegal activities, including use o f funds derived from illegal\nactivity, entries to conceal or launder funds derived from illegal activity,\nmulti-accounting, and using false identification.","path":["KRS Chapter 230"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=58093","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:47Z","sha256":"ed217adf2195c6f664bb8e7dd34726ece451008abb139500ee701955b602cdd5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-230.830","next":"us-ky/krs-230.836"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
