{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-234.180","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 234.180","heading":"Plans for storage plants -- Submission -- Approval -- Contents.","body":"(1) For plants storing liquefied petroleum gases, and used for the dispensing of\nliquefied petroleum gases in liquid state into container or containers, for resale,\nplans shall be submitted, in duplicate, to the Department of Housing, Buildings and\nConstruction, and shall be approved by the department before construction is\nstarted. Plans so submitted shall show the following information as a minimum:\n(a) The name and address of the owner, and the name and purpose of the plant\nproposed;\n(b) Location of the prop osed plant in relation to the nearest city, highways,\nrailroads, and built up areas;\n(c) A plot plan showing dimensions of the area proposed to be used for the plant,\ndistances to the nearest property lines and the location and construction of any\nbuildings which might affect the distances required under regulations adopted\nby the commissioner of housing, buildings, and construction;\n(d) Construction drawings showing the arrangement and construction of all tanks,\ntank supports, piping, accessories, building s, and appurtenant items of\nconstruction. These drawings shall be in sufficient detail to allow a contractor\nwho is familiar with tank and pipe installation but not necessarily familiar\nwith liquefied petroleum gas installations to use such drawings to\nsatisfactorily complete the installation without further instructions;\n(e) A copy of the original boiler inspector's report of inspection of the tank or\ntanks to be used or a reference to manufacturer's name and serial number of\nthe tank so that the report may be obtained direct;\n(f) The date of completion of the plans, the dates of any subsequent revisions and\nthe signature of the person assuming responsibility for the correctness of the\nplans.\n(2) For plants, installed for industrial or commercial usage, hav ing a nominal water\ncapacity of 150 gallons or over and serving an aggregate BTU usage of 150,000\nBTUs or over and/or used for dispensing liquefied petroleum gas into other\ncontainers, not for resale, a report of installation, giving location and equipment\ninstalled, must be made to the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction,\nnot later than ten (10) days after installation.","path":["KRS Chapter 234"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=10998","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:48Z","sha256":"e627d146d7983553629234dbee4855230b76c5391463e18f9d2dd12a007f4e3b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-234.175","next":"us-ky/krs-234.185"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
